GenAI Consultant - Senior Consultant or Manager level
We're on a mission to innovate banking with GenAI. We need people who want to lead that charge. Will you become part of our global financial consulting evolution? Apply now!
We usually respond within three days
At Zanders, GenAI isn't a side project or an R&D experiment. It's central to how we're reshaping financial services. Our GenAI team is growing fast, currently 7-10 consultants delivering at enterprise scale for banks, insurers, and financial institutions across Europe. Every project we take on pushes the boundary of what's possible in regulated environments.
We're looking for a Senior Consultant or Manager who brings hands-on GenAI capability, an understanding of financial services, and above all the drive to build something that doesn't exist yet. The right person isn't waiting for a playbook. They're writing it.
Your work and impact:
Our projects span three modes, often within the same engagement. Each one requires someone who's willing to challenge the status quo and find solutions that clients haven't imagined yet.
Build. Design and implement GenAI solutions for clients. Recent examples include developing autonomous agents for financial crime automation and creating enterprise-level GenAI coding tools that accelerate risk modelling workflows. The technology moves fast. We expect you to move with it and push us forward.
Govern. Help clients manage the risks of AI systems they're building or buying. This means writing AI risk policy, performing model validations on LLM-based systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations like the AI Act and WWFT. This work requires someone who can learn new regulatory frameworks quickly and translate them into practical guidance.
Advise. Shape client strategy on where and how to deploy GenAI. Assess model landscapes, define implementation roadmaps, and recommend architectures that are production-ready and regulatorily sound. At the Manager level, we expect you to bring your own vision on how AI should transform financial services and to articulate it convincingly to C-suite stakeholders.
Projects range from focused sprints of a few months to embedded engagements of 1-2 years. There is strong current demand in Financial Economic Crime (AML, fraud detection, transaction monitoring), but the role is not limited to this domain. You'll work across risk disciplines as the GenAI portfolio grows.
Skills to be successful:
Core requirements, both levels:
Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Engineering),
Demonstrable experience building with LLMs: fine-tuning, RAG architectures, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, or LLM evaluation. Not just awareness, but hands-on delivery.
Strong programming skills in Python,
Experience working with cloud AI/ML infrastructure, particularly Azure and Databricks
Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is strongly preferred. Our projects sit at the intersection of AI and regulation (AI Act, WWFT, model risk), and understanding that context matters from day one,
A genuine drive to learn and innovate. We're building a new discipline within financial consulting. That requires people who are self-motivated, curious, and energised by ambiguity rather than paralysed by it,
Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
Senior Consultant (2+ years of experience):
Track record in quantitative or AI/ML projects, ideally in a client-facing setting,
Ability to communicate complex technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to pick up new tools, frameworks, and domains quickly, and an appetite to keep doing so.
Manager (4+ years of experience):
Proven ability to lead and deliver quantitative projects end-to-end, including client relationship management,
Ability to contribute to business development and project origination,
A well-developed personal vision on how AI will shape financial services, and the ability to communicate that vision clearly to your team, to clients, and to senior stakeholders,
Experience in financial services or consulting is expected at this level.
We offer:
A work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance,
Allowance to set up your home office in an ergonomically responsible way and an internet allowance,
Mobility budget to cater your commuting needs,
Participation in the Zanders bonus scheme,
Secure your future with a pension scheme,
